GAA Matches and Croke Park Gigs: Where to Stay in 2024

On Dublin's Northside, in a neighbourhood named Drumcondra, sits the home of the Gaelic Games in Ireland. Croke Park Stadium is a 82,000 capacity arena, with a deep history in Ireland.

This famous sports ground in Dublin 1 was once only used for the traditional Irish sports of Gaelic, Hurling, and Camogie. Until in 1984, Neil Diamond played the first concert in Croke Park. In the following 40 years, the sports stadium has seen hundreds of thousands concert goers over the years.

Some historical performances include Garth Brooks, and his infamous tour that didn't happen! Irish artists often have a homecoming tour here, with Westlife, The Script, U2, and to an extent One Direction also playing here. International artists have seen Beyonce, The Rolling Stones, Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift and Michael Buble also take the stage.

2024 Concerts and Events

It looks like six concerts will be held at the iconic venue in 2024.

The Boss comes back to Croker for another sell out concert. With dates in Belfast, Cork, Kilkenny and Dublin for the Bruce Springsteen 2024 World Tour. The Boss has played 36 concerts in Ireland since 1985 and his final concert of this Irish tour will be number 40!

All the way from Australia, Rock band AC/DC hit Irish shores in August. Celebrating their 51st year as a band along the way. The band come to the largest stadium in Ireland on August 17th

English pop legends Coldplay are set to return to Croke Park Stadium. It will be their first time since 2017's "A Head Full of Dreams" tour. They take a four night residence at GAA HQ between August 29th and September 2nd. The 2024 tour is their "Music of the Spheres" tour.

Dublin's inter-county home league championship games are played at the Home of GAA. This is then followed by the penultimate and final games of the All-Ireland football and hurling championships.

Their helpful staff can ensure you order something truly exceptional for a meal! Cleary's is a timeless pub on Amiens street. Known for their stiff service, and excellent staff. This Dublin City Centre is an institution for those travelling to Croke Park Stadium.
