Temple Bar, the home of craic agus ceol in Dublin. What is Craic agus Ceol? It's fun and music, in the heart of Dublin's ancient past, in Temple Bar. TradFest 2024 celebrates the Irish Culture through song and dance at the end of January each year since 2006. This is the largest gathering of trad artists in the capital each year. Bringing together international artists, with legendary male and female artists from Ireland.

The 2024 Trad Fest will kick off on the 24th of January until the 28th of January. This celebration of Irish identity through music will fill music venues around Dublin's cultural quarter over four nights of this long weekend event. You can keep up with the action from afar on their digital channels, or stay in the Travelodge and experience TradFest in person over five days.

Celebrating Irish culture, music, and tradition

Now into its 18th year, the annual TradFest has steadily grown across Dublin City centre and county. Since year one, the festival has an ethos to offer "Trad without Frontiers". This ethos paved the way for a varied line up including Celtic folk, punk folk, standard folk music and traditional Irish music.

"Ireland's thriving traditional music scene is defining the nation in an ever-shrinking world" Hollywood star Stephen Rea. This festival ensures that the Irish trad music is forever remembered from Northern Ireland and the Republic.

The culture festival began in January, as it was a long month without any other celebrations of our culture. The strategic location of the event symbolises the celebration of Irish history through the cobble locked streets with a plethora of pubs, street entertainment and stores.

The festival has used historical landmark buildings to host the events and concerts. Some of these stunning venues were included as the acoustics are unreplicable in modern venues. The notable venues are City Hall, House of Lords, Collins Barracks, St Michan's Church, St. Patricks Cathedral and Christ Church Cathedral.
