Stay Close to 3 Arena at Travelodge Plus Dublin!

The Point Depot, the O2, the 3 Arena, there have been many names for one of Dublin's favourite venues for years. Originally constructed back in 1878 as a train depot, the railway men would call it the 'Point Store'. This is where it's name came from when Harry Crosbie purchased the old building to turn it into what is now and Art Entertainment Venue.

When the 3Arena opened in 1988, Dublin City was a much different location. There were not many City Centre hotels to choose from when you visited the venue for a concert. In 1994, the Point Depot was broadcast world wide, as it hosted the Eurovision Song Contest. It would go on to become the only arena to host this event three times.

When the Point Depot was demolished in late 2007, it took less than a year for the O2 Arena to open in December 2008. The popularity of the Concert Venue was a constant success and in 2011 it was the 5th busiest indoor music venue in the world!

In recent years, 3Arena has become one of the most popular indoor arena locations for some of the biggest names in entertainment. Home to live music, comedy, opera, MMA and much more.

The worlds biggest performers will again take the stage in 2024 and beyond for a brilliant set. This year will see the likes Niall Horan, Eric Clapton, Olivia Rodrigo and so many more take to the biggest arena Dublin has to offer.
